IPTV first for Czech O2

November 29, 2022 11.23 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

O2 is to become the first IPTV operator in the Czech Republic to offer the streaming service Voyo.

Voyo is operated by TV Nova, one of the country’s leading broadcasters, and along with it O2 customers will also be able to receive its thematic channels Nova Lady, Nova Sport 3 and Nova Sport 4. Both existing and new O2 customers on all its main tariffs will be able to purchase the complete Voyo package for CZK159 (€6.53) a month from December 1.

Commenting on the development, Anna Lenerova, the head of O2 TV content, said: “We try to regularly bring new premium content to our customers. We are bringing the new Voyo package in the run-up to Christmas. We believe that its content will make the preparations for the holidays more pleasant for customers and shorten the dry days”.

She added that Nova TV has enjoyed long-term popularity among O2 TV viewers and “closer cooperation is the logical outcome of long-term efforts for the most engaging content for O2 TV customers”.

Daniel Grunt, Voyo’s chief digital officer, said: “As far as the offer of Czech films and series is concerned, Voyo is currently the strongest player on the Czech market, and we continue to strengthen this position. We offer viewers a whole range of new Czech films immediately after the premiere in cinemas”.

He also said that Voyo’s “family silverware” are exclusive projects from its original workshop on which it collaborates with top Czech creators and actors.
