The Polish public broadcaster TVP plans to launch a channel aimed at viewers aged 10-16, reportedly as soon as the end of this year or in early 2023.
According to Presserwis, it will be named Alfa TVP, rather than Teen TV, as previously expected. The channel will initially be distributed over the internet but may eventually also be offered by cable networks. Alfa TVP will cost PLN15 million (€3.2 million) to operate next year and PLN20 million in 2024.
In a separate development, TVP has announced it will sell advertising for the YouTube channel Kanal Sportowy.
The latter was launched by four sports journalists in 2019. It has 900,000 subscribers and has had around 420 million views.
