SES has described its contribution to the Q3 results season as a “solid ongoing execution across the business”.
The Luxembourg-based satellite operator reported revenue of €1,400 million in the year to date, an increase of 6.1%, as it benefitted from interest in the US C-Band market.
Video revenues of €763 million represented a reduction of 5.6% year-on-year, though including an anticipated impact of US wholesale revenue and periodic revenue of €10 million in Q1 2022. When this is stripped out video revenue was 3.3% lower than the equivalent period in 2021. Lower volumes in mature markets were partially offset by growth in HD+ and Sports & Events.
As of 30 September 2022, SES was carrying around 8,000 total TV channels to 366 million TV homes around the world, including around 3,100 High Definition TV channels. 73% of total TV channels are broadcast in MPEG-4 with an additional 6% broadcast in HEVC.
Adjusted Net Profit improved by 23% year-on-year to €277 million
