Stella Litou has been appointed the new CEO of CME Adria, responsible for both Pro Plus and RTL Croatia operations, effective November 28.
She joins CME Adria with the primary objective of advancing the integration and synergy strategy between Pro Plus and RTL Croatia. Litou will also be named president of the RTL Croatia management board. Meanwhile, Branko Cakarmis will continue in his role as general director of Pro Plus and will focus on digital and content growth in the Slovenian market while working with Litou to implement the integration strategy.
Commenting on the appointment, CME COO Dusan Svalek said: “Stella is a widely experienced professional in finance, strategy, programming, and digital integration. We are excited and confident that under her leadership, the RTL Croatia and Pro Plus integration strategy will accelerate and deliver growth in both countries.
“And Branko has our full confidence to drive the anticipated growth at Pro Plus; together he and Stella will make a great team”.
Litou added: “This position presents a huge opportunity in my career: multiple markets with different audience habits and cultures, responsibilities overseeing not only the integration of two leading stations, but also the expansion of our digital footprint and improved local content creation. I am delighted to be re-joining CME, an organization whose ambition to transform itself into a premier content producer has, in my opinion, made it one of the great success stories in our industry in Europe in recent years”.
Litou’s career has been spent entirely in the media and entertainment sector, and she has devoted herself to primarily programming and content creation. In recent years, she moved into senior leadership roles with Antenna Group in her native Greece where she was the general manager of Ant1TV/Mak TV. Her responsibilities included growth of broadcasting and the expansion of content capabilities, designing a digital transformation strategy, and driving the content offering launching of Ant1+, Antenna’s key SVOD platform.
Her commercial expertise also reaches into strategy, operations, financial leadership, and change/transformation initiatives. Prior to her position with Antenna Group, she worked as the programme director at Pro Plus in Romania for four years and at MTG in Sofia, Bulgaria, as head of strategy and development. Her career has included engagements at both public and commercial media.
