YouSee replaces Stofa in Aarhus

November 1, 2022 12.42 Europe/London By Julian Clover

YouSee is to take over the provision of broadband and TV services to 40,000 customers in Aarhus.

The cablenet takes over the contract from rival Stofa which last week announced it was terminating the contract with the Aarhus Association (AFAA).

YouSee will work with VIOS, which has been created by the Association itself.

“For a long time, we have had a really good dialogue with YouSee and are pleased to finally be able to publish our collaboration, which can clear any concern for black screen of the road with our many members. Our task is to ensure the best selection of services and products at competitive prices where the needs of the members are the focus. And YouSee is the right partner for us because with YouSee Play we can now offer to secure the members’ TV and streaming consumption through a digital app solution, ”says Michael Jakobsen, CEO of VIOS.

YouSee and VIOS will deliver a basic package of 23 channels to all member houses that currently receive TV via the TV socket, automatically and free of charge from December 1. Consumers will then be able to decide whether they continue with the basic package or choose YouSee’s new entertainment product YouSee Play.

“We are in the process of a great transformation to secure our place as the Danes’ preferred supplier of entertainment products based on the best digital customer experiences. The partnership with VIOS and thus potentially tens of thousands of new YouSee customers is a declaration of confidence and a strong signal that we are on the right track,” said YouSee CEO Christian Morgan.

YouSee Play works as a pure-digital solution meaning VIOS customers no longer require a set-top box or TV stick.
