The executive in charge of Canal+ France is leaving the Vivendi Unit.
The departure of Frank Cadoret, Deputy Managing Director of the Canal+ Group, comes alongside a project to reorganise the management of its domestic business.
After a period of decline, subscriber numbers in France have grown for four consecutive years and now stand at 9.6 million.
In a statement praising his contribution, Cadoret was attributed to having transformed Canal’s distribution activities and turned the 38-year-old broadcaster into a leading digital player through MyCanal.
Maxime Saada, Chairman of the Management Board of the Canal+ Group, said: “I had the pleasure of starting my professional relationship with Frank Cadoret when he piloted SFR consumer activities, while I was Canal marketing and sales director. I was immediately impressed by his mastery, unique in France in my opinion, of the design of commercial offers, their marketing, their distribution and customer relations.”
Once a consultation period with staff associations has taken place, Christophe Pinard-Legry and Gérald-Brice Viret will be appointed respectively Director General of Canal+ France in charge of the business and general manager of Canal+ France in charge of the distribution and programming.
