Only four TV stations have applied for a licence to operate the fifth national network in Serbia.
This is a surprise, reports Danas, given that only a few months ago there were 14 bids for four national licences, which in controversial circumstances were awarded by the regulator REM to four broadcasters โ Pink, Happy, B92 and Prva โ all of which are supportive of the government.
The four applicants for the fifth licence are Nova S, Kurir, Kopernikus and BK, with one of the more notable absentees being the Hungarian national broadcaster TV2.
