“Market conditions” impact Serbia Broadband offer

October 20, 2022 11.03 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Serbia Broadband (SBB) will drop TV Prva and TV B92 from its cable offer on October 28.

This, according to the company, is due to the “extremely unfavourable market conditions” imposed by the owners of the two national channels. However, at the same time, the most popular shows on the two channels will still be broadcast on TV Pink, which SBB will continue to carry. SBB adds that also from October 28 it will add five completely new channels to its offer. They will be Nova Max, Nova Series and Grand Nostalgia, all produced by SBB’s sister company United Media, along with Insta TV and France 24.

In its comments on the withdrawal of the two national channels, SBB said: “We have always been a leader in innovation, and our greatest strength has always been our loyal users, as well as our employees who strive to provide them with the best service. Precisely because of this, we do not want to agree to the blackmailing and completely inappropriate offer of the owner of Prva, which, compared to the previous period of cooperation, has been increased by as much as 1,000%, while ignoring the fact that we are talking about channels whose ratings are declining according to all parameters of viewership measurement. while the most famous TV personalities are leaving these media”.
