Net sales in Turkey’s telecom sector amounted to TL29.2 billion (€1.59 billion) in the second quarter, or 32% more than in the same period last year.
According to Hurriyet Daily News, quoting the country’s Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK), revenues of the four largest players in the market, namely Turkcell, Türk Telekom, Vodafone and TT Mobil increased from TL16 billion in Q2 2021 to TL21.4 billion in the second quarter this year. That of other companies rose from TL6 billion to TL7.86 billion over the same period.
As of Q2 there were a total of 89.5 million broadband subscribers in Turkey, of which 71 million were mobile and 18.5 million fixed. Internet subs increased by 4.5% in the year to June 30.
Cable internet subscribers fell by 0.9% in the second quarter to 1.4 million.
