María Jesús Martín has been appointed the new director of the Spanish regulator CNMC for a period of six years.
She has 30 years of professional experience in the public sector, mainly focused on three areas: energy regulation, competition law in energy markets and energy policy.
Most recently, she was appointed director of energy at CNMC in 2020.
CNMC (National Markets and Competition Commission) was founded in 2013 and promotes and ensures the proper operation of all markets in the interest of consumers and corporations.
Its remit includes Spain’s electronic communications sector.
