Mainstream Media launches FAST channels

October 6, 2022 14.31 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German media company Mainstream Media will soon launch three FAST channels (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV), which will be available on various smart TV platforms and as a smartphone/tablet app in HD quality.

Filmgold (“Golden Movies”) features classic films with actors such as Uschi Glas, Mario Adorf, Maximilian Schell, Ottfried Fischer and Fritz Wepper, while Starke Frauen (“Strong Women”) shows movies, thrillers and series starring female protagonists, including US series such as The Big C, Drop Dead Diva, My Boys, Hawthorne and The Client List.

For the first time in Mainstream Media’s 15-year history, there will also be a sports offering: World of Freesports targets fans of action and outdoor sports – with mountain bike races, ski and snowboard events, climbing tours and motor sports.

The three new channels complement the FAST channel Goldstar TV Plus. The music channel, which launched four years ago and can be received on platforms including Samsung TV Plus, shows music videos by stars such as Helene Fischer, Udo Jürgens, ABBA, Howard Carpendale and Kenny Rodgers. In addition, there are repeats of German TV classics such as Disco and Hitparade.

The first distribution platforms of the new FAST channels are Samsung TV Plus, LG TV, Pluto TV, Rakuten TV and waipu.tv.
