Deutsche Glasfaser switches TV service to waipu.tv

October 6, 2022 13.22 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

The customers of German fibre-network operator Deutsche Glasfaser can now use the TV service offered by waipu.tv.

As part of the cooperation agreed between Deutsche Glasfaser and waipu.tv in March 2022, new customers can subscribe to waipu.tv directly and pay for it via their Deutsche Glasfaser invoice. In return, the network operator will discontinue its own TV service BrightBlue.

With waipu.tv, customers will receive “even more channels and more extensive TV services based on state-of-the-art streaming technology,” Deutsche Glasfaser stressed in a statement. All existing customers will also be gradually and automatically switched to the new TV service from 2023.

Private customers of Deutsche Glasfaser can choose between two subscriptions: the waipu.tv Comfort package for €6.99 per month and the waipu.tv Perfect Plus package for €12.99 per month. In addition to linear television with more than 140 channels, the Comfort package also includes 50 hours recording space.

Customers who book waipu.tv Perfect Plus have access to more than 200 channels, HD quality, 300 hours of recording space and more than 50 pay-TV channels. In addition, there are interactive functions such as the restart of currently running programmes.

The streaming offer from waipu.tv can be accessed via an app on all common end devices and operating systems – on up to four devices in parallel. Optionally, customers can also order the waipu.tv 4k stick.
