Zattoo has revamped the start page for users of its app on smart TVs and streaming devices in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Viewers are offered more personalised content by linking TV programmes more closely with on-demand content.
In addition to a live preview of the last TV channel watched, the new start page offers recommendations of TV programmes tailored to users’ viewing habits: The more often a particular programme or category is watched, the more likely it is to be recommended. In addition, recommendations can be selected by categories such as films, series, knowledge, sports and children.
The new start page also offers direct access to viewers’ own recordings as well as a rewatch function. With this function, users can continue watching the programme at the same point where they stopped watching it, regardless of the device. If a viewer has already finished watching the full episode of a series or show, a new episode will be proposed instead, if it is available.
In the rewatch area, all content is taken into account that is available time-shifted through functions such as live pause, restart, recordings or 7-day replay (Switzerland and Austria only) as well as in the on-demand area. The scope of this content depends on the selected subscription.
