Samsung teams up with Spain’s Avatel Telecom

September 28, 2022 12.55 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Samsung Electronics and Avatel Telecom have reached an agreement to include the CLICtv application on Samsung TVs.

Through the CLICtv app, platform customers with Samsung TVs will be able to access more than 90 online TV channels and an extensive catalogue with thousands of movies, series and programs on demand.
Commenting on the development, Miguel Ángel Ruiz, head of brand & innovation at Samsung Electronics Iberia, said: “At Samsung we are committed not only to offering the best image and sound technology on the market, but we also continue to offer different services to our users so that they can enjoy their favourite content.

“The incorporation of the CLICtv app to our televisions is a sign of our commitment to offering entertainment, educational and informative options for all people, positioning ourselves as the television manufacturer with the most solid content offer in the sector”.

For its part, the fifth largest telecommunications operator in Spain highlights “the ease and comfort that it means for our customers to have CLICtv incorporated into Samsung televisions and access all its channels and its catalogue with a button wherever they are, so that this agreement constitutes an important advance and reinforces our position in the market”.

The TV platform will only be available in the Spanish market, but with an accessible user interface in Spanish, Galician, Catalan and English. Up to 5 devices can be registered with CLICtv, and it allows up to four simultaneous playbacks and a total of two concurrent playbacks of the same content, either on Samsung televisions or on any device from the Galaxy family, among others.
