Samsung has announced a number of important changes to its TV Plus service in Spain.
They include a new design for its logo and appearance, reflecting the platform’s multidevice capabilities, as well as the introduction of new TV channels.
The latter include name changes for two proprietary channels, with Detectives becoming Todo Crimen and Love Nature NatureTime. Grjngo, a channel aimed at fan of classic western films, is now available for the first time in Spain following an agreement between Samsung TV and Amogo, while ‘Bjgtjme’ offers a library of over 400 movie titles of all genres for free.
GoUSA is also now available for the first time in Spain.
Samsung notes that Samsung TV Plus as a free TV and video streaming service in 2015, and as of August 2022, in Europe, users in 16 countries could access connected TV and enjoy a wide range of content including news, sports, entertainment and much more.
It adds that according to an internal study, Samsung TV Plus ranks third among OTT apps used by Samsung Smart TV owners. In the past 12 months, Samsung TV Plus has nearly doubled the number of consumer viewings, including nearly 3 billion hours of streaming, from highly engaged users around the world.
Amidst this global growth, Samsung is ushering in a new era for its free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) and VOD service.
