Antenna Group has agreed with Eurobank to acquire the market leading multiplex cinema chain Village Roadshow Operations in Greece.
The transaction, for an undisclosed fee, marks its first acquisition in the cinema sector.
Village Roadshow Operations commands a 42% market share and has a dominant footprint regionally. It hosts film releases from all major Hollywood and independent studios and distributors and offers a variety of entertainment amenities and services.
Antenna Group has investments and operations across North America, Europe and Australia, including the multi-territory, multi-channel Sony Pictures Television deal in 2021 which positioned it as a leading operator in the CEE region. It currently operates in more than 40 territories and has a global audience in excess of 150 million.
