The Slovak national commercial broadcaster TV Joj will launch a news-based channel this autumn.
Speaking in a Facebook post, TV Joj’s CEO Marcel Grega said that Joj 24’s debut will coincide with celebrations of the broadcaster’s 20th anniversary.
He added that the channel will very shortly start broadcasting from its own studio.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, the Slovak regulator RVR awarded a national digital channel licence to Mac TV in March this year.
It will allow Mac TV, which includes Joj TV and the thematic channels Joj Plus, Waua and Jojko, to also operate Joj 24.
Viewers in Slovakia can already watch the news channels TA3 and RTVS 24, as well as several foreign news channels.
