Magyar Telekom saw its TV subscriber base in Hungary grow by 6.1% in the year to June 30.
As of the end of Q2, according to the company’s latest set of results, it stood at 1,345,245, while blended TV ARPU over the same period rose by 2% to HUF3,405 (€8.59).
The telco says that growth in TV revenue remained mostly driven by the expanding IPTV customer base, while the success of the ‘more-for-more’ pricing coupled with targeted price increase measures led to some uplift in ARPU. TV revenues in Q2 were HUF13,667 million, or 8.2% more than a year earlier.
Meanwhile in North Macedonia, Telekom’s subsidiary ended Q2 with 147,019 TV subscribers, or 1.7% more than in the same period in 2021. TV revenues rose by 12.3% to HUF1,506 million. The group as a whole had revenues of HUF184,234 million (+10.9%) in Q2.
EBITDA was HUF57,905 million (-2.3%) and net profit HUF11,728 million (-19.2%).
