Further Canal+ channels will be launched on Skylink in the Czech Republic and Slovakia following the debut of Canal+ Sport on August 4.
According to Parabola, quoting information provided at a press conference, the channels will include ones offering movies and series and should appear in the first half of 2023. Aside from offering content from Canal+, they will also include material from SPI International, which is majority owned by Canal+.
Skylink already offers viewers Skylink 7, featuring content from Canal+ and selected content suppliers, and the food and lifestyle channel Canal+ Domo.
The main feature of Canal+ Sport will be coverage of the Premier League. The channel will be distributed by Astra 3B at 23.5 degrees East, with separate feeds for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Significantly, commentary will be in the Czech and Slovak languages. This will be the first time this has happened in coverage of the Premier League in both countries.
