The number FTTH lines in Spain increased by 1.1 million in the year to May 31.
According to data published by the regulator CNMC, the total stood at 13.2 million at the end of May, or 90,831 more than the previous month.
At the same time, the number of DSL lines fell by 0.5 million in the year to May 31.
CNMC notes that Movistar was the market leader in the FTTH sector at the end of May, accounting for 37.4%, or 4.9 million, of lines at the end of May.
Meanwhile, Movistar, Orange (including Jazztel) and Vodafone (including Ono) claimed a combined share of the 77.6% of the fixed broadband market.
