TF1 will have the exclusive rights to the French national soccer team until 2028.
The commercial broadcaster has signed a global partnership with the French Football Federation and UEFA.
The package includes exclusive rights to the French national team matches from UEFA: Nations League, friendly matches, qualifying matches for Euro 2024, the 2026 World Cup and Euro 2028. It will also have exclusive free-to-air rights to 25 matches from UEFA Euro 2028.
An editorial commitment will allow TF1 behind the scenes access to produce series and documentaries based on the life of Les Bleus.
Gilles Pélisson, CEO of the TF1 Group, said TF1 was now the home of Les Bleus. “It has never been so important to offer the French public free-to-air access to the biggest sporting events with the widest possible coverage on all channels. TF1’s ambition is to help strengthen social ties and bring together all generations around the most popular team sport in France. The TF1 Group has therefore chosen to enter into a strategic, innovative and long-term partnership with the French Football Federation and UEFA.”
Previously rights have been shared with M6.
