Spain’s MásMóvil has agreed to sell part of the Euskaltel access network to a consortium of investors known as Bidasoa Aggregator.
According to MásMóvil, the move will speed up the availability of fibre optics in the 1.2 million homes located in the Basque Country, Galicia and Asturias that currently still have a cable network, thanks to the deployment of a new network that is already underway.
Once the deployment of the new fibre optic network is completed, 100% of the 2.3 million homes that make up the current footprint of Euskaltel’s network will be FTTH and able to enjoy the most advanced telecom services in Spain.
The transaction does not include the trunk fibre network or transmission assets that continue to be wholly owned by the MásMóvil /Euskaltel Group.
