Vivendi’s Canal Plus is looking to launch two new sports channels, amid speculation Canal+ Décalé could be dropped.
Le collège de l’Autorité de régulation de la communication audiovisuelle et numérique studied the applications for Canal+ Foot and Canal+ Sport 360 during a meeting this week.
The channels will launch on August 31 as part of a package that includes the established Canal+ Sport.
Between them the channels will offer UEFA Champions League, secured until 2027; Premier League until 2025; TOP 14 Rugby until 2027; Formula 1 until 2029; MotoGP until 2029; Ligue 1 in 2022-2023 and the WRC until 2030.
Correspondance de la Presse suggests that Canal+ Décalé could also make way for one of the new channels.
