The Czech Council for Radio and TV Broadcasting (RRTV) has accused Prima TV of violating the law in its dispute with O2 TV.
Quoting a release by RRTV, Digizone says that on February 2 Prima TV aired a report in which it discussed the imminent shutdown of its channels on O2 TV.
At that time, the two parties were locked in a widely publicised dispute – see Broadband TV News.
This was finally resolved at the end of February, with O2 TV acceding to Prima’s demands. RRTV says that Prima TV refused to maintain editorial neutrality in its report and used “manipulative techniques” to present only one side of the dispute.
Prima was given seven days to rectify the offence. Although the regulator cannot impose any sanctions on Prima for this violation, it may do so for any future offence.
