Complaints data published by the regulator Ofcom shows the gap between the best and worst performing pay-TV operators is widening.
The quarterly data ranks the number of complaints received per 100,000 people.
At the top of the table, Sky received just one complaint per 100,000. This was followed by TalkTalk on 3, BT on 5 and Virgin Media on 10. The industry average is 4 complaints per 100,000.
“While the overall level of complaints has been consistently low over recent months, the gap between the best and worst providers in the broadband, landline and pay-TV sectors is widening,” said Fergal Farragher, Ofcom’s Consumer Protection Director. “The figures highlight how some firms have plenty of work to do to keep their customers happy and catch up with their rivals.”
Virgin Media generated the highest volume of pay-TV complaints; the main reason customers complained to Ofcom was complaints handling. Sky was also the least complained-about pay-TV provider.
