The Kastrati Group has decided to cancel its agreement, by mutual consent, to buy a 60% stake in Euronews Albania
As a result, according to Balkan Insight>, it will revert to its previous owner Theodoro Çami.
It adds that Euronews Balkans was founded in 2018 in a contract between Inter Media Group and Euronews. It resulted in the launch of a channel targeting Albania and other countries in the Balkans with an Albanian speaking population. However, it failed to make an impression, accounting for only 4.7% of the Albanian TV ad market as of the end of 2020.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, Kastrati Group acquired the 60% in Euronews Albania in April this year for an undisclosed fee.
