Lubos Machaj has been elected the new general director of the Slovak public broadcaster RTVS by the country’s parliament.
He will assume the post on August 2 for a five-year term, taking over from Jaroslav Reznik, the current head of RTVS.
Machaj was originally one of eight candidates for the position of general director.
He has held a number of posts at RTVS in the past, including programme director of its TV and radio services, in an industry career spanning over 40 years.
