Zattoo hires Dr Harald Flemming

June 22, 2022 13.07 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Dr Harald Flemming has been appointed to the newly created position of director partnerships and regulatory affairs at Zattoo, effective July 1.

In his new role he will be responsible for structuring and advising on partnership agreements across Zattoo’s commercial activities and will be overseeing the company’s regulatory affairs.

For more than 18 yrs. Flemming was active in the telecommunications and broadcasting industry. Prior to joining the German commercial broadcaster association Vaunet as MD he – as VP content distribution and sales – was responsible for the content related licensing business of Viacom International Media Networks in the German speaking territories. Then and during his tenure as head of FreeTV of Kabel Deutschland Flemming was negotiating and closing complex commercial partnership agreements with key B2B partners, e.g. network operators, platforms, broadcasters and collecting societies.

Commenting on his appointment, Flemming said: TV streaming is today’s growth story with a true E2E-solution at its fundament, facilitating a swift user experience across all devices. I am excited to join the market leader in TV-as-a-Service to ensure its partnerships are structured to scale”.

He will report to Jörg Meyer, who is steering Zattoo’s B2B, content and D2C business as CCO.

Meyer added: “By creating the position of director partnerships and regulatory affairs we meet the requirements of our ever expanding commercial partnerships. Harald is a market and negotiation expert with a significant track record in building sustainable partnerships and I am sure he will help us scale further and faster”.
