The streaming service AMC+ will launch in Central and Eastern Europe in the first quarter of 2023.
Speaking in a panel discussion at entitled Pay-TV: Global trends v CEE trends at NEM in Dubrovnik, Levente Málnay, EVP, AMC Networks International, added that the goal would be to work with the company’s distributors such as cable and satellite operators, with which it has a symbiotic relationship.
He added that AMC+ would not and cannot compete with players such as Netflix and will instead offer something different.
In the US, AMC+ says it shows “only the good stuff” and the streaming service will build on this tradition in CEE, while at the same time also showing local content.
