WOW: Sky Ticket gets new name

June 7, 2022 12.00 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland is giving its streaming service Sky Ticket a new name: WOW.

The service, which provides access to the Sky offering without a long-term subscription, was launched in 2014 as Sky Online and renamed Sky Ticket in 2016. Interestingly, the name change to WOW marks the first time the Sky brand no longer appears in the name.

With the rebranding, taking place today, the user interface has been revamped, the search function expanded, and various personalisation options have been added.

As an introductory offer, new customers can sign up for WOW subscriptions at reduced rates until July 31: The series package is available for €7.99 instead of €9.99 per month, the combined movies and series bouquet costs €9.98 instead of €14.98 per month.

The reduced subscription price is valid for customers indefinitely, as long as they do not cancel their subscription. There are no discounts on the sports package (€29.99/month), but there is an offer for long-term customers: Viewers opting for an annual subscription pay just €24.99 per month.
