NHK World-Japan, the English-language international service of Japan’s public media organisation NHK, is increasing its activities in Germany.
The 24-hour TV channel NHK World-Japan is now available on streaming platform Zattoo. Viewers can receive the channel in the free basic package (SD) with the HD version being offered in the Premium and Ultimate packages.
Reflecting its strong engagement in Germany, NHK World-Japan is also taking part in Japanese film festival Nippon Connection 2022 from May 24-29 in Frankfurt/Main. The broadcaster will participate in the event’s 22nd edition with the NHK Drama Showcase, featuring – as the highlight – the world-premiere of the English-language version of Teen Regime. The screening will take place on May 28 at 11:30 CEST at Internationales Theater Frankfurt; admission is free.
The NHK Drama Showcase at Nippon Connection 2022 also includes the series How to be Likable in a Crisis and To Heal the Heart. All episodes of the two series can be watched on-demand for free on NHK World-Japan’s website.
The Nippon Connection Film Festival, founded in 2000, is the biggest platform for Japanese cinema worldwide, featuring movies, animes, documentaries, concerts, performances, workshops and interviews. More details about this year’s event, the programme and participants are available at www.nipponconnection.com.
