Netflix has agreed to pay €59.1 million to tax authorities in Italy.
According to Reuters, quoting a statement by Milan prosecutors, the settlement was for a period covering October 2015-2019. Although the statement referred to a multinational VOD company, three sources confirmed that the company in question is Netflix.
Prosecutors began an investigation into tax investigation because Netflix used digital infrastructure to deliver its service to 2 million users in the country.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News,Netflix opened a new office in Italy earlier this month.
