A week before the current Bundesliga season reaches its climax, Sky has announced plans to introduce the Dolby Atmos for the week’s top match, from the start of the 2022/23 season.
Sky will be the first broadcaster in Germany to use the immersive sound format, in partnership with the DFL Group.
Dolby Atmos expands on existing surround sound systems by adding height channels, allowing sounds to be interpreted as three-dimensional objects.
Viewers will need the Dolby Atmos enabled Sky Q receiver; the format is also available on the Sky Glass streaming TV.
