Poland’s Cyfrowy Polsat has posted a net profit of PLN212.8 million (€46 million) for the first quarter, down from PLN390.4 million in the same period last year.
Its revenues were barely changed at PLN2,986.7 million (PLN2,987.4 million), while EBITDA was PLN766.6 million (PLN1,082.7 million).
The company ended Q1 with 13,379,000 B2C RGUs, or 1.6% more than a year earlier.
Its B2C pay-TV subscriber total fell by 3.1% over the period to 5,177,000.
It notes that the latter was due to the repositioning of pricing and change in the strategy of offering its online services, as well as the lower number of provided satellite TV services.
This decrease was partially compensated by the increasing number of TV services offered in online technologies (IPTV/OTT).
