wedo movies HD launches on Deutsche Telekom‘s MagentaTV

May 4, 2022 11.28 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

Video Solutions AG is expanding its advertising-financed streaming service wedotv into linear broadcast television.

wedo movies, which was launched as FAST Channel, is now distributed in the basic TV line-up of Deutsche Telekom’s German TV platform MagentaTV. The more than four million MagentaTV customers can receive wedo movies HD on EPG channel slot 79.

“We are excited about our long-term cooperation with Deutsche Telekom through which we can significantly expand the reach of wedotv. With our strategic decision to distribute the FAST channel wedo movies on MagentaTV in the TV channel line-up, we guarantee high visibility and awareness for our attractive movie channel and its advertising partners – and are thus breaking new ground in the streaming industry,” said Philipp Rotermund, founder and CEO of Video Solutions AG. “Partnerships with further TV platforms and network operators are in preparation.”

The launch on MagentaTV follows the name change of Watch4 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and its sister service W4Free in the UK to the new, unified brand wedotv. The content proposition comprises movies, series, documentaries and live sports, free of charge and ad-financed.

wedotv is available as an app on most smart TVs, streaming devices and platforms, including Android, iOS, Samsung, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and Roku, as well as directly on the web at www.wedotv.com. The FAST Channel wedo movies is offered on MagentaTV, Samsung TV Plus, waipu.tv, rlaxx TV, LG Channels, Philips, Rakuten TV, Xiaomi, Netgem and TCL.

According to the company, the videos reach more than 30 million views per month – with a strong upward trend.
