Q&A 2: Dr Peter Charissé, Managing Director, ANGA COM

May 3, 2022 15.26 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Dr. Peter Charissé, Managing Director ANGA COM and ANGA The Broadband Association, is more than ready for the return of the favourite TV and broadband exhibition & conference to Köln Messe.

ANGA COM has been absent from Cologne for two years now. Does the build-up to the event feel any different to you?

Definitely yes. We are more grateful to our exhibitors, sponsors, and speakers than ever before. The starting conditions are even better than we would have dared to hope. ANGA COM will be the first major industry meeting with early summer conditions.

Are there any new innovations compared to previous years?

We have completely new floor plans. Hall 8 will be completely occupied for the first time ever. And the aisles in our exhibition halls will be wider than 2019. Besides this, we already have a major advantage with our location: With 115-metre -high exhibition halls, a huge foyer and the popular open air plaza with food trucks, our venue has never been more attractive.

 What are the conference highlights?

For our international participants, I would like to mention the International CTO Summit with CableLabs USA, Deutsche Glasfaser, Liberty Global, TDC NET and Telefónica. In total, we have 13 English-language panels in the conference programme to particularly address our international guests. In addition to the International CTO Summit there will be four other summit events: The Digitalization Summit, the Fiber Summit, the Media Summit and the Content Summit with top representatives from Amazon Prime Video, ARD, DAZN, Deutsche Glasfaser, Deutsche Telekom, Discovery, M-net, NetCologne, ProSieben.Sat.1, RTL Deutschland, Sky Deutschland, Tele Columbus, Telekom Deutschland, Vodafone Deutschland and willy.tel.

What is it about the launch night party that makes it so special?

Our ANGA COM Night close to the river Rhein will once again be a place to celebrate, to socialize and to have fun. The regular 1,500 tickets are already sold out, but there is still a chance to get so-called ‘Moonlight Tickets’ with drinks and music after 9:30 pm. And we are particularly pleased about the many side events of our exhibitors that set ANGA COM apart from other events. Thus, we are grateful to our exhibitors and sponsors for the loyalty and optimism they have shown us in the last months.

ANGA COM 2022 takes place between May 10 and May 12 at Messe Koeln, Messeplatz 1 Cologne, 50679 Germany
