Yallo has launched a pilot project that shows short video previews of selected TV shows.
The Swiss operator is trying to attract younger audiences familiar with similar video content on social media. It hopes the Video Snippets will provide an alternative to the traditional TV guide.
“Just like on social media platforms, customers can scroll through video snippets that play automatically and choose their favourite content – this will help us meet the needs of young Gen Z even better,” explains Christoph Richartz, Chief YOL Officer of Sunrise UPC.
An editorial team selects the highlights from a range of channels and edits the video clips for inclusion. The feature is found on the home screen and can be used with the German language settings on the TV Box (Android TV), the yallo TV app for tablets and smartphones (Android and shortly also available for iOS) as well as via all common web browsers, such as on PC and laptop.
Yallo also plans to offer highlights for the Apple TV app and other language profiles.
