Mixed fortunes for Türk Telekom

April 29, 2022 07.40 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Türk Telekom ended the first quarter with 2.9 million TV subscribers.

Although the figure was barely changed on three months earlier, it was 5.1% down on the same period in 2021.

Meanwhile, the number of Tivibu Home (IPTV and DTH) subscribers as of the end of Q1 stood at 1.5 million, down 2.6% on a year earlier.

TV ARPU nevertheless grew considerably in the year to March 31, by 16.8% to TL24.3 (€1.56).

Türk Telekom also saw strong growth in its fibre customer total, up 40.7% to 10.3 million in the same period.

Türk Telekom’s revenues in Q1 amounted to TL9,471 million (+24.8%) and EBITDA TL4,115 million (+8.2%). However, its net income plunged by 58.6% to TL561 million.
