The launch night of TalkTV saw a total of 588,000 viewers tuned in on linear TV platforms for Piers Morgan Uncensored.
The first half of the broadcaster’s interview with former US President Donald Trump secured an average of 317,000 viewers in the 8pm to 9pm hour.
Including the repeat at 11pm, a total of 588k viewers tuned in on linear TV platforms to watch the show’s debut. In all Talk TV reached 809,000 people on TV on its launch night and was the most watched of all news channels across its prime-time schedule.
Between 7pm and 10pm, TalkTV says it gained a share of 0.94%, beating BBC News (0.88%), Sky News (0.64%) and GB News (0.38%) and making TalkTV the most watched news channel.
Scott Taunton, EVP, President of Broadcasting, News UK said: “Piers Morgan Uncensored reached more TV viewers than all other UK news channels combined last night, and we anticipate that number will be lifted by viewers across an array of other connected platforms, streaming services and listeners to the simulcast on TalkRadio.
During the day, TalkTV relays programming from Talk Radio, which is flipped during TalkTV’s primetime schedule.
The new channel from the News UK stable is available on Sky, Virgin, Freeview and Freesat. TalkTV is also streamed via Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung TV Plus and on YouTube, as well as via the Talk.TV website and TalkTV iOS and Android apps.
