CT Decko, Prima Zoom and National Geographic are the best rated thematic TV channels in the Czech Republic.
According to the findings of atmedia index 2021, CT, which is a children’s channel operated by the public broadcaster Ceska Televize (CT), has maintained top spot for the second year in a row, while Prima Zoom and National Geographic have swapped second and third positions.
Commenting on the findings, Pavel Müller, head of research and marketing at Atmedia, which commercially represents almost 30 thematic channels on the Czech market, said: “While there were no significant changes at the top of the atmedia index in 2021 compared to 2020, we see a significant shift in children’s channels in general, with most of them improving several positions upwards year-on-year”.
Czech viewers generally rate children’s TV channels, which follow documentaries and films. Five representatives of documentary channels were ranked in the Top 10 TV channels, three places were taken by children’s channels, and one each by film and sports channels.
Müller added: “Viewers on the winning channels appreciate, for example, the quality of the programmes, the scope and variety of their offer or the visual quality of the broadcast. At the same time, they would usually also recommend them to their friends”.
