Calls by the Ukrainian regulator National Council to shut down Russian TV channels are now being supported by 30 European countries.
Moreover, 10 of these countries have started to broadcast Ukrainian TV channels.
Summarising developments in the last 10 days, National Council says that Albania has stopped broadcasting Russian media on all digital platforms. In addition, the regulator AMA has publicly informed Albanian media about ethical rules and the necessity to exercise caution when using pro-Russian information. In cooperation with the Regulator for Electronic Telecommunications and Postal Services of Albania (AKER), it also took measures to immediately close domains of RT (Russia Today) in English, German, French and Spanish, as well as Sputnik.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian channels Ukraina 23 and 1+1 are now being distributed by cable networks in Hungary, including the one operated by Magyar Telekom in Budapest.
Ukrainian broadcasting also expanded in the Czech Republic and Germany, with 1 + 1 being made available in the Czech national digital multiplex Multiplex 23 and the major German broadcasters RTL.news and ntv.de carrying news in Ukrainian.
