The Spanish regulator CNMC has published an update of the MARCo offer to improve conditions allowing for alternative operators to deploy new generation networks in Telefónica’s infrastructure.
According to CNMC, procedures have been revised to improve deployment with lower population density.
It adds that among the updates that it has introduced in the new MARCo offer is an inclusion of a quick procedure for the deployment of the dispersion network (customer connections) on poles. The procedure is necessary because the general deployment procedures are not adapted to that situation in which the access to the poles is intended to meet the request of a client who is already waiting for the service registration.
An annex has also been included in the offer that describes the calculation method applied by Telefónica to analyse the feasibility of requests for access to poles.
In addition, given that the situation of the line of poles before the new installation of the operator is very relevant, the feasibility study that Telefónica provides to the operators must break down the load caused exclusively by their cables.
CNMC concludes that the new specifications must be implemented within six months, although those that do not require computer developments must be implemented within a month.
