Ericsson partners with BH Telecom

March 25, 2022 11.16 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The Bosnian operator BH Telecom has signed a new contract with Ericsson Nikola Tesla.

Worth KM3.8 million (€1.94 million), it will result in the upgrade part of the core network of BH Telecom and the necessary implementation and integration services. Work will start immediately, despite what are described as “challenging circumstances in the environment”.

Commenting on the development, Sedin Kahrima, general manager of BH Telecom, said: “BH Telecom continues its long-term successful cooperation with its partner Ericsson Nikola Tesla through the project of building a new mobile software switch (MSS). The project will ensure the continuity of providing voice, SMS, roaming and other services for users of BH Telecom’s mobile services at a very high level, with reliability and quality, creating preconditions for the implementation of next generation mobile services (VoLTE), and optimizing maintenance costs. The realisation is planned in several phases in the coming years, which gives BH Telecom the necessary stability in the mobile network, enables the transition to the latest generation of mobile networks and maintaining a leading position in the BiH market”.

Gordana Kovacevic, general manager of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, added: “I am looking forward to signing this contract with our longtime customer BH Telecom. I am sure that our professional teams will do this demanding job well and on time. Also, given the planned activities for the further development of the BH Telecom network, we expect that our cooperation will be extended to other activities”.
