The Slovak national commercial broadcaster Markíza will add another thematic channel to its portfolio this June.
Known as Markíza Krimi, it will, like its name suggests, focus on detective and criminal themes, especially through top foreign series.
Commenting on the development, Matthias Settele, CEO of the Markíza Group, said: “Slovak viewers have always liked detective and criminal stories from abroad, so we decided to dedicate one of our TV channels to this genre. Markíza Krimi will help us to achieve a broader thematic diversity and a more accurate profiling of our stations”.
Juraj Matus, director of the Markíza Group’s Advertising Centre, added: “We feel that now is the right time to launch a new TV station. The Slovak television market is currently experiencing an absolute boom, Markíza Krimi will help us satisfy the enormous audience demand and provide business partners with another attractive space for communicating their campaigns”.
Markíza Krimi will broadcast 24 hours a day in Slovakia and be distributed by pay-TV operators, exclusively in full HD.
In addition to the titles known from the existing channels of the Markíza Group, Markíza Krimi will also bring exclusive news and other premium, worldwide popular series.
The viewership of the new station will be measured within the PMT and will soon become part of the Markíza Group GRP layout after launch.
The Markíza Group currently operates the channels Markíza, Markíza +1, Doma and Dajto in Slovakia, as well Markíza International in the Czech Republic.
