The Polish operator Play, which has been owned by France’s iliad Group for the past year, more than doubled its home services subscriber total in 2021.
As of the end of 2021, it had 267,000 receiving Play Now TV and fixed internet, a 112% increase on the previous year. The company’s revenues from services in 2021 were 6.4% higher than the previous year and revenues as a whole increased by 2% to PLN7.3 billion (€1.6 billion). Meanwhile, EBITDAaL was up 31% year-on-year to PLN3.13 billion.
Commenting on the results, Jean Marc Harion, president of the management board of P4, said: “We are proud of our achievements in the first year after joining the iliad Group. We effectively implement our strategy, exceeding all assumed business and financial goals. Last year, we started the process of acquiring UPC Polska, which will allow us to create a completely new quality, thanks to the combination of the best mobile, fixed and television services on the Polish telecommunications market”.
