Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Limited has received anti-trust approval from the Polish authorities for the acquisition of the national transmission company Emitel.
In an update, Cordiant says this represents an important step in a multi-stage government and regulatory approvals process.
It adds that following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Polish zloty has weakened against the pound and shown increased volatility. As a result, the company is in the process of implementing a prudent currency risk management strategy.
Cordiant notes that Emitel and the Czech national transmission company CRA, which it also owns, are supporting the delivery of TV and radio services in Ukrainian their respective countries in order to provide Ukrainian refugees with important updates on the Russian invasion, administrative information and entertainment.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, in January this year Alinda Capital Partners entered into a binding agreement to sell Emitel to Cordiant for an undisclosed fee.
