TalkTalk launches new Netgem 4K TV box

March 21, 2022 11.25 Europe/London By Julian Clover

TalkTalk has partnered with Netgem to deliver a new 4K TV box to its fibre customers.

Customers can access more than 70 channels and on-demand players through the Netgem TV interface including Netflix and Prime Video. The TalkTalk TV 4K Box is available on new and existing fibre plans.

Other features include the universal search function, compatible with Alexa, enabling customers to easily search for their favourite TV or movies across services.

In an industry first, the new box will also provide direct access to TikTok.

Jonathan Kini, Managing Director of TalkTalk Consumer and Direct Business, said: “Our priority is to ensure we provide the best entertainment and fibre packages on the market, at great value. That’s why we’re delighted to partner with Netgem to release the TalkTalk TV 4K Box – bringing next level entertainment to our customers and easy access to TikTok, Netflix and Prime Video.”

Sylvain Thevenot, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer for Netgem, added: “We are very pleased that Netgem TV is the first TV service in Europe to bring TikTok to the large screen: adding the fastest growing video service to the living room, starting in the UK with TalkTalk, is a not only a testament to our agility, but also at the heart of our positioning of always bringing the most relevant content to consumers without having to systematically pay more.”

TalkTalk has previously offered customers the YouView platform, which it has backed alongside BT and a consortium of public service broadcasters.
