Poland’s leading alternative telco Netia is now able to provide Giga services to around 65%, or over 2 million, of its homes passed.
Furthermore, once the fibre lines of its partners Netia and Plus are taken into account, that figure is doubled to nearly 4 million.
Netia notes that most of the potential giga connections are via FTTH, with several hundred thousand employing thoroughly modernised HFC and ETTH networks.
The operator adds that it is also increasing its potential through acquisitions of smaller internet providers and cooperation with developers.
Taking into account the acquisitions made and the construction of the network in new buildings (mainly multi-family), the range of Netia’s network has increased by over 300,000 over the last five years and currently amounts to approximately 3.2 million homes passed.
