The Slovak public broadcaster RTVS plans to make its recently launched news channel a permanent service.
Local reports say it will apply to the regulator RVR for a licence for 24, which temporarily replaced the channel Troika to offer coverage of the war in Ukraine.
If RTVS secures a licence, it will operate a total of five channels, namely Jednotka, Dvojka, Troika, 24 and Sport.
Furthermore, 24 will join a growing list of locally operated news channels in Slovakia including TA3 and the soon-to-be-launched Joj 24.
