The M7 Group-owned operator Skylink has been hit by a major outage in the Czech Republic.
In a statement that appeared on its Facebook page, it said: “Dear customers, today in the early evening (Monday, February 14) there was a failure of all Skylink satellite television programmes throughout the Czech Republic. The fault has already been rectified. If satellite TV still does not work for you, please turn your satellite receiver off and on. We are very sorry for this inconvenience”.
In another message that appeared on Tuesday, February 15, Skylink said: “Good morning. The program failure has already been fixed. In case you have any problems, do not hesitate to write us in private message. Together we can verify the situation. We apologise for the inconvenience caused yesterday and trust all is now well”.
Broadband TV News believes that the outage was also experienced in Slovakia.
According to Zive, quoting Jaromir Glisnik, member of the board at M7 Group, the satellite distribution outage lasted for around 20 minutes and was due to the interruption of the backbone route to the uplink station in Usingen.
